This recreational adult basketball program is organized and monitored, with play focusing on fitness, fun, and safety. This basketball program provides a semi-competitive environment with 4 vs. 4 games. Free for Tier 1 pass holders.

CancerFit
An exercise program for adult cancer survivors of all fitness levels. Work with a Certified Personal Trainer with specialized training from the Cancer Fitness Institute. The trainer oversees aspects of the exercise regimen, which aids in recovery and general fitness during and after treatments. Participants receive a pre-and-post fitness assessment, an individualized fitness plan based on personal goals and medical challenges, a 12-week exercise class, and an Apex Center pass valid during the 12-week program for independent training. You must register in person at the Apex Center.

Combination 42 T'ai Chi

A private lesson is required if you are new to using Pilates equipment and must be purchased separately. This popular and fun conditioning program utilizes spring-loaded equipment to provide resistance. Pilates develops muscle strength and flexibility in the entire body with a strong focus on balance, stability and posture. Class primarily utilizes the reformer, chair and small props.

Rock Climbing Test Out Belay Certification
This free test is a chance for experienced belay climbers to test out of our tie-in-belay certification class without taking the class. Those who do not successfully test out, will be referred to the full 2 hour class. This is offered on Thursdays and Fridays 5-8pm, Saturdays and Sundays 12-5pm. Wait times may vary depending on number of climbers. Upon successful test out, you will receive a certification sticker that is good for one year.

T'ai Chi Moving For Better Balance
A fall-prevention program that uses principles and movements from Yang Style T'ai Chi to help older adults improve their balance, enhance agility, and coordination in functional abilities. The class format and design have been acknowledged as one of the few evidence-based interventions for the prevention of falls by the Centers for Disease Control and National Center for Injury Prevention and Control.

Triathlon Training for Beginners
A 10-week program designed for an individual who would like to complete his or her first triathlon with no regard to time. You will receive a 10-week training plan along with strength exercises to perform at the gym. The class will be lead by a personal trainer that has experience in participating and training for triathlons. If you participate in this program you should expect to finish your first triathlon. Youth Weight Room Orientation
Mandatory for youth ages 12-15 to use weight and cardio equipment at the Apex Center. Topics covered include: proper use of selectorized or "plated" equipment and cardio machines, various free weight exercises, weight room rules and etiquette, safety issues with weightlifting and adolescents, and an overview of major muscle groups. Students must pass a comprehensive test to get a weight room card. Free for annual pass holders. Register at least 48 hours in advance.
