Deep Water Bootcamp
This no-impact, high intensity program will focus on cardiovascular strength and endurance as well as flexibility, range of motion, and core strength. Classes are held in the deeper water of the pool and participants will use flotation belts, barbells, and noodles. This program will benefit those looking for a more challenging workout and as a no-impact alternative to conditioning on land. This class is designed to burn fat and increase cardiovascular fitness, range of motion, and muscle tone. No swimming skills are necessary.

Great Apex Race
Need extra motivation to become the healthiest you in 2021? Join the “Great Apex Race” and travel virtually through the U.S. with a teammate in a friendly fitness challenge from February 15 to April 16. For eight weeks, you and your partner will compete against other teams to reach various destinations by earning mileage through walking, running, hiking, cycling, swimming, taking exercise classes (in-person or virtually), strength training, rowing, elliptical, personal training sessions, skiing, snowboarding, and more! There will be surprises and prizes along the way! All you need to participate is a fitness app that can track your activity. *Can’t find a partner? Let us know and we will try and pair you up.

• Teams of two will work together to reach that destination first by accumulating mileage through various activities

Women on Weights
Ready to get back in the gym and build your strength? Women on Weights provides a great introduction to free weights (including dumbbells, kettlebells, and barbell movements) and how to train for real strength gains in a safe setting. No previous lifting experience necessary. You will work closely with a personal trainer on form and technique while focusing on muscular strength, core, and endurance. Class meets in-person once per week with an additional workout to be completed on your own.

World T'ai Chi Day

Crossing Colorado Challenge
Need extra motivation to become the healthiest you in 2021? Time to get off some of that quarantine weight! Gather a team of up to 10 people to trek across the length of Colorado – 380 miles – during the month of May. As a team, you will log your miles in a fitness app and send weekly team results to the Recreation Coordinator. Miles can be logged by walking, running, jogging, hiking, cycling, or rowing. All you need to participate is a fitness app that can track your activity. *Can’t find a team? Let us know and we will try and pair you up.

- Teams of up to ten may log miles.
- Participants do not have to live in Colorado - miles can be submitted from anywhere, but all participants must register via website.
- The cost is $8 ($10 non-res.) per person.
- To register as a team, all team members must include the same team name in their registration. If you do not have a team, answer N/A to the team name question.
- Mileage can be accumulated by the following activities: walking, running, jogging, hiking, cycling, or rowing.
- Teams must submit total team weekly mileage (not steps) to the Recreation Coordinator.
- The purpose of this challenge is to encourage physical activity above and beyond your daily routine.

T'ai Chi Ruler
A Tai Chi (Taiji) Ruler is a carved wooden stick with curved ends that fit comfortably in the palms of the hands. This form of Qigong utilizes gentle movements performed with the Ruler to help build and guide the internal energy (qi or chi). Known as The Needle That Stills the Mind, the Ruler also serves as a meditative practice, enhancing body-mind connection, flowing movement and a sense of serenity.
